Introduction: 
C.B.S. - Chertavian, Bedding & Smallwood - represents a collection of work by the world's leading studio potters past and present.
The C.B.S. collection is organised and displayed at St Ives Ceramics, a purpose-built ceramics gallery in the heart of St Ives, the place where Bernard Leach established the Leach Pottery and is largely regarded as the creator of the 'studio pottery movement' as we now know it.
Many of the potters collected by C.B.S. have a connection with St Ives, either as students of Bernard Leach or as followers of his work and philosophy.
The collection is by no means a museum exhibit - it is alive, accessible and evolving.
C.B.S. welcomes approaches by anyone wishing to sell pots by any of the potters featured.

All pots in the collection are sold with an Authentication Certificate, authorised by John Bedding, who worked for Bernard Leach at the Leach Pottery from 1969-1978 and has also worked and travelled in Japan. His experience and intimate knowledge of pots made by Leach, his students and contemporaries, as well as that of Japanese potters, serve as guarantor of both provenance and authenticity of all pots collected and sold on.

Please Note: All pots can be bought via credit card payment. Items which cannot be collected from the Gallery by the buyer will need to be shipped, incurring freight and insurance costs.
