Walter Keeler is a maker of functional pottery of individual nature in salt-glazed stoneware and earthenware. Walter’s work is influenced by early Staffordshire Creamware. His work, over the years, has become highly prized and instantly recognisable.
Walter trained under Michael Casson, at Harrow School of Art from 1958 to 1963 before the Studio Pottery Course was established and has worked in his current private studio since 1976. He is considered by many as one
of the most important and influential potters over the last few decades.
He was also a professor at The University of the West of England in Bristol, from 1994 to 2002.
